The Obafemi Awolowo University Muslim Graduates Association (UNIFEMGA) will on Saturday February 2, honour 13 of its members for their achievements and contributions to the development of the association.

National Public Relations Officer, UNIFEMGA, Alhaji Mohammed Buari, said that the 8th edition of the Honours’ Day will hold in Ilorin, Kwara State capital.

Those to be honoured attained various professional milestones and are made up of two professors, eight PhD holders, two management partners and one director.

Buari said the Provost, College of Law, Kwara State University, Prof. Abiodun Amuda Kanike, would deliver the lecture titled “Restructuring: Can it address the problems of Nigeria?”, while the Deputy Vice- Chancellor, Management Services, University of Ilorin, Prof. Bolaji Fatai Sule, would be the chairman of the occasion.

Speaking on the uniqueness of the UNIFEMGA Honours Day, the National President of the Association, Alhaji Waheed Odeyimka, explained that those to be honoured were carefully selected and excelled in their various fields of human endeavour.

He urged members of the association to emulate the honorees and continue to strive for excellence in their chosen fields of endeavour having had the rare privilege of passing through the four walls of Obafemi Awolowo University.

Odeyimka said that the two-day event would also serve as a mini-reunion of members as there would be a National Executive Committee meeting of the association.

Since 2011 when the maiden edition of the National Honours’ Day started, 105 members have so far been honored for attainment of various professional landmark achievements.

UNIFEMGA is an association of Muslim Graduates from the then University of Ife now known as the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State.
