As part of its unwavering commitment to women empowerment, the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy (LJLA) is putting women at the centre of leadership conversations with a special roundtable titled “Breaking the Concrete Ceiling” at the upcoming 2025 Lagos Leadership Summit, scheduled for April 16 and 17 at the Konga Place, Lekki, Lagos.
This session will confront the structural barriers stalling women from ascending to top leadership roles and highlight practical strategies to overcome them. In line with the summit’s broader theme, “Transformative Leadership: Developing Responsive, Adaptive, and Inclusive Models,” the roundtable reflects LJLA’s priority on advancing gender equity in leadership.
The session will feature a powerhouse panel of accomplished women leaders: Dr. Owen D. Omogiafo, President and Group CEO of Transcorp Group; Shaffy Bello, Actor, Humanitarian, and Thought Leader; Temilola Adepetun, Managing Director/CEO of SKLD Integrated Services; and Olori Atuwatse III, Queen Consort of the Warri Kingdom. These speakers will share personal experiences, practical insights, and strategies to empower women to break through conventional leadership constraints and redefine success in their respective fields.
Speaking on the significance of the discourse in helping women scale in leadership, Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade, Executive Secretary of LJLA and convener of the summit, said, “Women in leadership have consistently transformed industries, challenged the status quo, and paved the way for future generations. This roundtable embodies our commitment to equipping women with the knowledge, confidence, and practical tools to surmount barriers and excel in leadership roles.”
The Lagos Leadership Summit is one of LJLA’s flagship initiatives to shape a more inclusive future by convening the nation’s current and emerging leaders. The “Breaking the Concrete Ceiling” roundtable will provide a space for candid exchange, actionable solutions, and transformative progress. This session represents far more than a discussion; it serves as a rallying call for women prepared to harness their influence, challenge established norms, and forge pathways for upcoming generations of female leaders
With physical slots already fully booked, interested participants are encouraged to register for virtual access to avoid missing out on this powerful experience.
