The need to create a platform to give women the opportunity to meet, connect and expand their personal and professional networks was recently emphasised at an event in Lagos.

Organised by Her Network, Chats and Cocktails saw women from different walks of life come together to connect, inspire and encourage one another grow.
The event which had as its theme Real Talk. Real Network aimed at highlighting real accomplishments, struggles, encounters and business models that would motivate and inspire the next woman.

“It is important that we attend conferences and be inspired by the speakers and panellists but it I s also important that we come together from time to time, to connect and have real conversations with each other in a more relaxed environment…” said Nkem Onwudiwe, convener of the event and creator of Her Network.

“Women need to realise that regardless of your social status or achievements, CEO or Fresh Graduate, you have a gift that can be of benefit to the woman next to you, be real, be supportive and most of all, be confident in yourself because only then will you be able to support another woman without feeling insecure about your unique capabilities.”. She concluded.

Several activities during the event which included group selfie icebreakers, speed networking, seat swap, real talk and musical chairs ensured active engagement between the women in attendance. Some women walked away with freebies like Hairfinity products, gorgeous bags courtesy of Miss Lax and bundles of weaves courtesy of HerImports.com

The event was hosted by Maria Okanrande, media personality and On-Air-Personality at The Beat 99.9fm Lagos. It held at Oasis Medspa, Ikoyi and was well attended by career women from different walks of life including Michelle Dede, Lara Rawa, Tomi Aluko , Linda Osifo, Naomi Umunna, Tewa Onasanya, Lara Sage, Lola OJ, Ajibola Olubiyi, Karen Young, Brycee Bassey, Jane Michael Ekanem, Enuma Okoro, Zaina Agoro and so many more
