HNWOTY 2017 to celebrate outstanding women in December

The Her Network team has announced that nominations for the debut edition of their annual awards ceremony are now closed. The Woman of the Year awards intends to identify and applaud female millennials that are simultaneously creating impact and excelling in their chosen sectors.

The origin and inspiration for this laudable project was expressed by Nkem Onwudiwe, the creator of Her Network and HNWOTY who said: “This project, #HNWOTY, aims at dismantling the illusion of a box and a glass ceiling to showcase sung and unsung millennial females within Nigeria who are doing phenomenally well in their respective fields and, more importantly, creating a platform that not just celebrates their achievements as individuals, but also honour the women from different fields and sectors, as one.”

According to reports from the Her Network team, an overwhelming number of emails nominating a plethora of outstanding females were received and they’ve decided to recognise a few possible nominees in recognition of their efforts and excellence regardless of the next selection process of official nominees.

The showcase of possible nominees for the #HNWOTY Awards started on October 20 via their social media platforms @HNWOTY.The organisers would be featuring updates on the progress of events on a weekly basis.
