Adam Levine Teams Up With Rudeboyz And Maluma In ‘Ojalá’
Rudeboyz, Maluma, and Adam Levine have dropped “Ojalá,” a sensual reggaeton song which Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine sings in Spanish for the first time, days after announcing their collaboration.
Maluma and Levine trade lyrics on the new song, which was created by the Colombian singer’s longtime collaborators The Rudeboyz, about losing a girl and moving on from heartache. ‘Ojalá’ is the first single from The Rudeboyz’s upcoming debut album.
The song was released by NEON16 & Sony Music Latin along with a music video made by Diane Martel. Beginning the three-minute segment are Chan El Genio and Kevin ADG (The Rudeboyz).
The partnership was initially revealed by the musicians on social media on October 14. On his TikTok profile, Levine teased a 20-second teaser of the peppy song with the hashtag “#Ojala @RUDEBOYZ @Juan Luis.” Maluma posted the excerpt to one of his Instagram Stories as well as to his blog.
“What do you think about this?” Meanwhile, The Rudeboyz wrote, “A very important release for us with people we admire a lot!! Keep your eyes on this !! @maluma @adamlevine.”
Levine had already made a suggestion about working with Maluma back in June. “World ain’t ready,” he said beside a snapshot of the two of them hanging out in a studio that he posted on Instagram.
The Rudeboyz have produced songs for singers including Shakira, Sech, Jennifer Lopez, Prince Royce, and Sebastián Yatra, among others. They were recently signed by Tainy’s NEON16.
