The global music community mourns as Popular American rapper and music producer, BeatKing is dead. The 39-year-old rapper, whose real name is Justin Riley, passed away on Wednesday, August 15, 2024.

Known for his infectious energy and innovative sound, BeatKing was a figure in the Houston rap scene. His music, often characterised by its high-energy beats and club-centric lyrics, resonated with fans worldwide.

His manager, Tasha Felder, made the news of his death public via an Instagram post on Thursday. In a heartfelt tribute, she described BeatKing as “the best part of the club for over a decade.”

“BeatKing has produced and worked with so many artists, that his sound will forever live. He loved his daughters, his music and his fans. We will love him forever,” the post read.

Coroners traced the cause of his death to a pulmonary embolism, a blockage in an artery in the lungs. It typically occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein, often in the leg (deep vein thrombosis or DVT), and travels to the lungs.

BeatKing is survived by two daughters.
