Drake, a million times better than Kendrick, says Kanye West
American rapper and music mogul Kanye West, who now prefers to be called Ye, has weighed in on the feud between the two rappers Drake and Kendrick Lamar.
Speaking in a recent interview with DJ Akademiks, the controversial rapper declared that Drake’s impact on hip-hop far outweighs Lamar’s, despite the Compton-born rapper’s dominance in lyrical showdowns.
West argued that while Lamar is often praised for his technical prowess and storytelling, Drake wields a broader cultural grip, shaping global music trends.
“One thing is, Drake is a million times better than Kendrick Lamar and a million times more important to the hip-hop world. What Future and Young Thug have done is what Drake culturally is. That sh*t was insane, bro. It’s universal,” Ye noted.

Kanye West’s remarks have sparked intense reactions within the hip-hop community, given Lamar’s reputation as one of the most critically acclaimed rappers of his generation. His Pulitzer Prize-winning album DAMN. and thought-provoking lyrics have solidified his legacy as a poetic force in the industry. However, Drake’s ability to blend rap with pop, R&B, and global sounds has made him one of the most commercially successful and streamed artists in history.
Beyond music, West’s opinions often attract controversy. His career has been marked by bold statements, polarising opinions, and a recent focus on experimental soundscapes with his latest musical endeavors.
His personal life, too, remains in the spotlight.
His marriage to Bianca Censori, an Australian architect and creative designer, continues to draw media attention, with the couple frequently making headlines for their unconventional public appearances and fashion choices.
