Popular Nollywood actress, Mercy Aigbe, has lost her mother.

The actress announced the sad news on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, via her verified Instagram page.

Aigbe posted a picture of a candle, signifying mourning, without sharing further details about her mum’s passing.
Her post quickly attracted an outpouring of love and sympathy from fans and celebrities.

Actress Chizzy Alichi wrote, “My condolences :pray:.”

Juliana Olayode also posted, “May God rest her soul and give you the fortitude to bear the loss :pray:.”

Others like Bimbo Oshin, Kiki Bakare, Bimbo Afolayan, and Laura Ikeji all left kind words.
