The weekend is almost upon us and you deserve to kick back and relax. If you’re looking for new films to keep you occupied for the weekend, here are some that should be on your radar:

Life Of The Party

This comedy starring Melissa McCarthy tells the story of a middle-aged mother Deanna Miles (McCarthy) who abruptly gets divorced from her husband Dan. She decides to return to college to complete her degree and dives deep into the campus life in an attempt to find true joy and freedom. The film was directed by Ben Falcone and also stars Molly Gordon, Gillian Jacobs and Maya Rudolph.

Breaking In

Breaking In is a thriller that tells the story of a single mother who moves to her late husband’s Malibu mansion with her two children to share his estate and properties after his untimely death. At the mansion, four criminals who plan to find the deceased’s safe kidnap her children forcing her to get the content of the safe. However, instead of simply giving up the safe, she begins to kill the criminals to save her children. The film was directed by James McTeigue and stars Gabrielle Union and Billy Burke.

Dark Crimes

This film stars Jim Carey in a dark role which is a huge contrast to his regular comedic roles. Following the story of a detective called Tadek (Carey) who takes on a case that involves the death of a famous businessman, the case begins to share similarities with a character’s murder in a novel recently published by a man called Kozlow. While everyone else thinks the answers are very straightforward due to this revelation, Tadek believes there is more to the case that meets the eye. The film was directed by Alexandros Avranas and also stars Charlotte Gainsbourg, Marton Csokas and Kati Outinen.
