Magnesium is one of the most important minerals the human body needs to properly function. It helps to calm the nerves, reduce anxiety, increase energy and fight fatigue. 1. Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate is very rich in magnesium. It has a 64 mg in a 1-ounce serving which makes up 16% of the body’s daily magnesium needs. Dark chocolate also contains a high level of iron, copper, antioxidants and manganese

2. Nuts


Many nut types have a high magnesium content. Almond, cashew and Brazilian nuts are prime examples with cashew nuts containing 82 mg of magnesium per 28g serving. This makes up 20% of the body’s daily magnesium needs. They are also a great source of fibre and have anti-inflammatory properties which is good for a healthy heart.

3. Avocado


The avocado is very nutritious and a wonderful source of magnesium. An average-sized avocado provides 58 mg of magnesium, which is 15% of the body’s daily magnesium needs. Avocados also high in fibre, potassium, B-vitamins, vitamin K and monounsaturated fat.

4. Bananas

Bananas are known for their high potassium content but most people do not know they also contain a high concentration of magnesium. A large banana contains 37 mg of magnesium which is  9% of the body’s daily magnesium needs. They also contain a high vitamin C, manganese, fibre and Vitamin B6.
