How multi-skilled Nancy Umeh is reshaping the world

An author once said: “We are born with all the breaths we will ever take.” It is true that age is our shelf life measured in years. But how about impactful living, regardless of how old or young one is?
One individual living a life of maximum difference is Nancy Umeh, a Nigerian-born professional chef, public health consultant and registered nurse. The Delta-born health expert was intentional about her choice of career and discipline.
Nancy is always highly enthusiastically about opportunities to engage people on the invaluable benefits of healthy eating. Her core calling has been about sharing healthy family recipes on YouTube, Instagram and Facebook. Her videos have helped hundreds of families stay away from picky eating, prevent and cure avoidable illnesses by sharing tips on healthy and safe cooking.
The young health expert did not pick up pedestrian training, or just relate based on ideas she read or came across on some platform. She knows her onions. The Nigerian graduated with a Masters of Science Degree in Public Health from the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom, in 2013, before which she was awarded a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with first class honours from the University of Sunderland, United Kingdom, in 2012.
Before seeking further knowledge abroad, she had graduated top of her class at the School of Nursing, Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), where she acquired her associate degree in Nursing in 2009.
Her highly instructive and informative videos on her social media handles have helped hundreds of people entangled in health-damaging junk food scenarios and do not know how to get out of the quagmire.
Nancy is particularly passionate about parents raising healthy children. She has dedicated time to educate especially women on why their children may be picky when it comes to food.
The professional chef also enumerated reason that could be responsible for a child who rejects certain types of food.
In a recent video she uploaded, the expert pointed out that parents must be aware children refuse certain food from “18 months to five years”. According to her, it could be as a result of “genetics, or bitter, sweet/fat sensitivity”.
Nancy highlighted that among other reasons could be: “Poor exposure (timing+variety), sensory/oral motor challenges (developmental delay/ disability) and (grazing too much)” can make children picky.
Nancy, who is a fitness aficionado, is the founder of Radiance Cookware, a non-toxic cast iron cookware company in Nigeria. She also serves as co-founder of Ciumcurrent Nigeria, Nigeria’s leading warehousing, supermarket and shop fitting company.
Nancy has a book loaded with safe recipes for healthy family diet, which can be downloaded on her Instagram bio.
