Highlighting and celebrating the craft, culture, and community that define the Jameson experience, Jameson recently brought together partners and friends of the brand in a rich blend of storytelling, flavour and connection all wrapped in atmosphere and intention.
Held at the Jameson Yard in Lagos, guests gathered for a soulful evening that featured drinks, laughter, music, new and old friends, as well as fine dining.
On arrival, guests were led into the Jameson Black Barrel Lounge for a tasting that highlighted the whiskey’s complexity, signature double-charred richness, balanced spice and smooth finish.
It was an invitation to slow down, feel and connect. The dinner then went outside, accompanied by soft lighting and curated sound.
Brand Activation Manager, Jameson, Tara Gbadamosi, spoke about the Yard’s role as a space that promotes collaboration, creativity,
and kinship during her welcome address. She then introduced Kita Mgbeje, Jameson’s new brand ambassador, to the partners – someone who already exemplifies the brand’s spirit of openness and originality.
Speaking with The Guardian, Kita said being a Jameson ambassador entails representing a brand that genuinely values connection, authenticity and shared experiences.
“The role fits very well with my lifestyle because I’ve always enjoyed creating community and celebrating culture, whether through music, fashion or everyday
interactions. It also aligns with my lifestyle because I’m big on shared experiences so it feels more like what I already do and not a job. I meet different people from different walks of life everyday, so this is simply a continuation of what I love doing.
Jameson is more than just whiskey; it’s about the stories and memories we make with it, he said.
He went on to highlight other Jameson Family members, including Chef Taylor, Anny Tushy, and Blessing Ewona.
“I am big on authenticity and self-expression so we are perfectly aligned. I am bringing to the table, consistent engagement, content and activation as well as meaningful partnerships. There is a lot of exciting things coming and I want everyone to anticipate what’s in store,” he enthused.
Chef Taylor, who created the evening’s menu, described friendship and togetherness as the flavours behind each course. He referred to Jameson Yard as his “family home, where food and drink are generously and unpretentiously shared, just as stories are. Each dish, from the rich Moi Moi purée starter to the comforting mango cheesecake finish, was both intentional and delicious.”
Signature cocktails such as Spice Route, Garden Berry Bliss, Date Night and Mosaic brought nuance to every moment, with flavours layered with the same care as Jameson’s whiskey.
Singer, Braye, delivered a live performance that added a warm pulse to the atmosphere
In closing, Marketing Director at Pernod Ricard Nigeria, Evane Chenuet, summed up the evening, saying, “Jameson is more than whiskey. It’s about people, creativity, making new connections and working collaboratively. I hope everyone met new people tonight that they did not know previously. We are all about forming new connections and we have the Jameson Yard here, where we can unleash our creativity and form meaningful connections.”
As a result, the celebration was focused on substance rather than status. Not noise, but depth. Kita invites everyone to be part of the conversation via Jameson’s social media handles across all platforms.
