Nigerian Afrobeats singer Kizz Daniel, born Daniel Anidugbe, has regained ownership of the master rights to his debut album, New Era, from his former record label, G-Worldwide Entertainment.

The singer announced the development on Monday via his official X handle, confirming that he has also reclaimed the masters for his hit singles, Yeba and Sofa.

“From long nights in the studio to several meditations, finally, I now own every song on the New Era album (2016) + Yeba & Sofa (singles). I got my masters back. This means more than words can explain. Thank you for riding with me,” Kizz Daniel wrote.

Released on May 14, 2016, New Era featured some of his breakthrough tracks, including Woju, Laye, and Mama, solidifying his presence in Nigeria’s music industry.

In November 2017, Kizz Daniel announced his departure from G-Worldwide after a series of contractual disputes and legal battles. His exit led to a rebranding in 2018 when he changed his name from Kiss Daniel to Kizz Daniel.

Following his departure, he established his label, Flyboy I.N.C., and was sued by G-Worldwide’s founder, Emperor Geezy. The legal battle eventually ended in his favor.

In 2023, Kizz Daniel appointed Emperor Geezy as the Chief Executive Officer of Flyboy I.N.C., a decision interpreted by many as a reconciliatory move between the two former adversaries.
