Emerging Nigerian artiste, Superstar7even, has said her music is intentionally crafted to break boundaries and connect cultures, as she makes her official entry into the music scene with the release of her debut single, Don’t Play.
Born Mariam Abiona Ibrahim, the genre-blending singer and songwriter explained that her style defies traditional classification, drawing from Afrobeats, R&B, pop, and other contemporary influences to shape a unique sonic identity.
Speaking to journalists in Abuja, the artist described music as a universal language that should not be limited by borders or genre constraints.
“I believe music should be free from narrow classifications. My sound is a reflection of my experiences, my roots, and my vision for the future,” she said.
Her debut signals an important step in the growing global influence of African music.
By incorporating Afrobeats into her work, Superstar7even highlights the genre’s reach and its power to connect people from different backgrounds.
“My music is a bridge between cultures. It’s about unity, inspiration, and breaking down barriers. Storytelling lies at the heart of my style. Drawing from personal experiences, my lyrics are designed to connect emotionally with listeners.
“Every song I create comes from a place of truth. I want my music to heal, inspire, and bring people together,” she said.
As she continues to develop her sound, the artist remains focused on creative growth and long-term impact.
“This is just the beginning. I’m here to create music that not only entertains but also leaves a lasting impact,” she added.
