Music producer and Mavin Records boss, Michael Collins Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has said he produced six songs featured on Billboard’s Top 50 Best Afrobeats Songs of All-Time list.
The compilation, released earlier this week, spotlighted some of the biggest tracks that defined Afrobeats globally.
Reacting to the recognition on Thursday, the producer took to his X handle to celebrate his contribution.
He wrote, Inside the 50 I sha produced 6. I try Abi I no try.”
In Billboard’s list, Don Jazzy’s credits include Wande Coal’s Bumper 2 Bumper, D’banj’s Oliver Twist and Fall In Love, Tiwa Savage’s Eminado and the Mavin all-star anthem Dorobucci.
With six songs, Don Jazzy stands out as the Afrobeats producer with the highest number of production credits on the list, a record that underlines his influence in the growth of the genre.
Over the years, the 41-year-old has shaped the careers of several Nigerian stars, including D’banj, Wande Coal, Tiwa Savage, Rema and Ayra Starr, while building Mavin Records into one of Africa’s leading record labels.
