Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, popularly known as Tems, will join global stars J Balvin and Doja Cat to perform at the first-ever halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup Final.

The global event will take place on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States.

According to organisers, the performance is part of a major partnership between FIFA and Global Citizen to raise $100 million through the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.

The initiative aims to improve access to quality education and football for children around the world.

Tems, while reacting to her inclusion in the performance lineup, said, “We’re going to bring the world together for a beautiful moment to celebrate football, feel the unity that music brings, and improve the lives of millions of children.”

Latin music star J Balvin also described the show as a proud moment for his culture, saying, “From Medellín to MetLife. I’m honoured to headline the first-ever halftime show of the FIFA Club World Cup final.”

This will be Tems’ second major appearance with Global Citizen, after she performed in Ghana at the Global Citizen Festival: Accra in 2022.

J Balvin has featured in several of the group’s pandemic-era campaigns, while Doja Cat also headlined previous concerts in Paris and New York.

The 2025 edition of the Club World Cup will be the biggest yet, with 32 clubs competing in 12 stadiums across 11 American cities from June 14 to July 13.

Organisers say this year’s final will be the most-watched club football match in history.

As part of the fundraising plan, $1 from every ticket sold will be donated to the Global Citizen Education Fund, which was first announced in April by FIFA President Gianni Infantino and Global Citizen CEO Hugh Evans.

“This fund brings together football and music to create lasting change for children globally,” Evans said.
Global Citizen will also produce the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final halftime show.
