Watch: Naira Marley Regains Freedom, Released From IKoyi Prison
Embattled Nigerian entertainer, Naira Marley has finally regained his freedom after he was released from Ikoyi Prison yesterday.
The young singer it would be recalled was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in connection to cybercrime popularly known as yahoo yahoo.
His release is coming 14 days after he was granted bail on the conditions that he must provide Two Million Naira (N2,000,000) bond and two sureties, one with landed property and the other, a Civil Servant, not lower than a level 10 officer. The judge also directed the EFCC to verify the bail terms.
When fans wondered why the “Am I A Yahoo Boy” crooner was still in prison despite being granted bail, his management explained via his Instagram page that all the bail conditions given to the rapper has been perfected but they were waiting on the EFCC to verify the sureties. According to the management, the rapper would be released on Monday, June 3, and he is to remain in Ikoyi prison until then but looks like it took longer than they anticipated.
The management had to call out EFCC for the delay in verifying the sureties and keeping him that long. A day after calling them out, Naira Marley is now released from prison.

It would be recalled that prior to his arrest, Naira Marley was very vocal about his support for yahoo boys and even went as far as asking fans to pray for them as they are not criminals. According to his reasoning, anybody who understands the history of slavery would understand that yahoo yahoo is not a crime and not only that, the yahoo boys make money circulate in the economy. He was openly criticised for these views by fellow entertainers, Ruggedman and Simi.
