Michael Sullivan the half-brother of American hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd, made up of brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi, has been arrested following the murder of their stepdad 62-year-old Floyd Sullivan.

Sullivan, who raised Swae Lee, 26, and Slim Jxmmi, 28 (born Khalif Malik Ibn Shamon Brown and Aaquil Iben Shamon Brown, respectively) since they were preteens, died at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday from gunshot wounds, PEOPLE reports.

There were no other reported injuries. His death is being investigated as a homicide.

The Tupelo Police Department revealed on Tuesday that Sullivan’s son Michael Sullivan, who was announced as a person of interest following the fatal shooting and was “being detained on a psychological hold,” was “released from a local psychological care facility and immediately arrested for murder.”

Following his stepfather’s death, Swae Lee tweeted on Tuesday “I pray the world let’s me keep some compassion”.

The duo Rae Sremmurd is best known for their single “Black Beatles” from SremmLife 2, which topped the US Billboard Hot 100, while also charting internationally in the top ten in many countries. They also released other platinum-certified singles such as “No Type”, “No Flex Zone” and “Swang”. Their third studio album, SR3MM was released on May 4, 2018, and served as a triple-album.
