Rihanna Teases New Music, Says She’s ‘Starting Over’
At a recent event celebrating the launch of her Fenty Hair brand, Rihanna shared exciting news about her plans for new music. The music icon and business mogul explained the new direction she will be taking for upcoming musical projects.
A return to music
Rihanna, who has put a hold on music and has been on a musical hiatus since the release of her last album, Anti, in 2016, revealed her new motivation for creating music now.
“I think that music, for me, is a discovery,” the Barbados singer told interviewers at the event.
“I’m rediscovering things. I have been working on the album for so long that I kinda put all that stuff aside and now I’m prepared to go back in the studio.”

Additionally, the mother of two hinted at a fresh start in her music career. She also clarified that she does not intend to abandon her previous work.
“I’m gonna start – give me a second! Yeah, I’m starting over,” she stated.
However, she added, “I don’t want to neglect the songs that I have, so I want to go back and listen to stuff with new ears, with my new perspective and then see what applies and what I’m still in love with.”
This statement from Rihanna suggests that her fans, known as the “Navy”, can look forward to a body of work that is a blend of new sounds and previously unreleased tracks. Rihanna’s comments on the possibility of a new album are now viral on the internet among fans who have been awaiting new music from the nine-time Grammy winner.
