Online shopping is something we all consider every now and then when the pop-up ads and sales newsletters come through. Forever catchy headlines and even better offers can be very luring, but over time, there comes the need to understand that getting all the good stuff isn’t just about knowing what sales are ongoing but observing a few basic rules to get the best. Let’s list a few things to always take note of when shopping online to avoid the disappointments.

  • Choose the Easy Stuff

Pay attention to things you’ve tried on or seen in person/on people to avoid disappointment about things like color, size or fabric quality when your purchase arrives. And always stay true to things you are familiar with.

  • Quality is Key

Fabric determines to the largest of extents whether you’re going to be happy with a piece of clothing when you come in contact with it. Pay a lot of attention to the fabric details before purchasing anything, and if you’re not sure, you can always read up on it. The wsh instructions are equally as important.

  • Think of the Future

When shopping, both online and offline, thinking of the future is very important. If you’re a trend follower, ask yourself if what you’re about to purchase would be relevant and easy to wear with the upcoming trends. At the least, this would help you plan for a better wardrobe and even cut your spending by a little.

  • Know Your Measurements

Knowing what sizes you wear in the different measurement standards should be a necessity. I advice that you keep a general size guide on your phone if you can for rainy days, as one designers large could be another designers small.

  • Do Away with Art Direction

Yes, art direction and styling for the campaign editorials can be very appealing as they’re intended for that purpose. It’s always best to find someone, a real person [not styled model] who has worn the look and did it well as this would give you an idea of what you’re getting in for.

  • Role Model

Find a role model, could be a fashion/style blogger or a celebrity or just someone with great personal style who has a similar physic as yourself and use them as a yardstick to know what would look good on you and what wouldn’t.
