At the Coachella stage, she performed her hit collaboration “Essence” with fellow Afrobeats star Wizkid. But she had an extra surprise up her sleeve: none other than Justin Bieber joined them on stage for a special performance, creating an unforgettable moment for fans in the California desert.
Midway through her set, Tems introduced an unreleased track titled “Love Me Jeje” from her upcoming album.
Tems treated the crowd to a total of nine songs, including fan favorites like “Crazy Tings,” “Avoid Things,” “Replay,” “Damages,”and “Higher.” She closed out her set with “Me & U” and “Free Mind.”
Originally released in 2020, “Essence” gained momentum over time, eventually impacting Billboard’s charts nine months after its debut.
The collaboration with Wizkid and Bieber made history by reigning over Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay in September 2021. Notably, “Essence” became the first Afrobeats song to crack the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 93.
As Tems prepares to drop her debut album, fans are awaiting the tracklist and potential features.
