The sentencing for rapper Tory Lanez has been postponed to August 7, 2023. Lanez was convicted of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the foot in July 2020.

Lanez’s defense team requested the postponement, citing a need for more time to prepare a sentencing recommendation. The judge granted the request, and Lanez remains free on bail.

Prosecutors are seeking a 13-year prison sentence for Lanez. Lanez’s defense team has not yet announced its sentencing recommendation.

The shooting occurred in the Hollywood Hills after Lanez, Megan Thee Stallion, and a friend were leaving a party. Lanez and Megan Thee Stallion got into an argument, and Lanez allegedly fired a gun at her feet.

Megan Thee Stallion was taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds to her feet. She later underwent surgery and released from the hospital.

Lanez was arrested and charged with felony assault with a firearm. He pleaded not guilty and was released on bail.

The trial began in September 2022 and lasted for two weeks. The jury found Lanez guilty on all counts.

Lanez is scheduled to be sentenced on August 7.
