Former Big Brother Naija star Pere Egbi has paid tribute to a friend who died by suicide.

The 40-year-old media personality made this known on Monday in a post shared on his X account, where he expressed grief over the incident.

According to him, the bullying his friend faced online pushed him into taking his life.

He wrote, “I lost a friend today due to online bullying. Committed suicide. Smh. RIP champ. It is well.”

The revelation comes shortly after Big Brother Naija organisers observed a minute of silence in memory of three former housemates, Francisca Owumi, Joseph Ada and Rico Swavey.

Egbi, who took part in the Shine Ya Eye edition of the show, has gone on to build a career as an actor, singer and songwriter.

He has featured in local and international productions including Gem of the Rain Forest, Pound of Flesh and Blood Vessel.
