Ned Nwoko addresses marriage, pregnancy rumours with Actress Chika Ike

The senator representing Delta North senatorial district at the National Assembly, Ned Nwoko, has denied recent rumours claiming that he is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant with his child.
The senator’s response follows speculation that has now gone viral about his marriage to actress Regina Daniels, who recently deactivated her Instagram account.
Daniels reportedly deleted her Instagram account after reports surfaced that Nwoko had fathered a child with Ike, who posted pictures of her growing baby bump on social media, according to online users.
Responding to this, Nwoko, in a statement released by his communications office on Monday, called the claims “baseless” and dismissed them as “a product of malicious speculation.”
The senator also refuted reports linking him to comments about singer Tuface Idibia and polygamy, describing those allegations as untrue.
A viral report had earlier claimed that Nwoko praised Tuface for embracing polygamy, describing it as a way to create balance and avoid infidelity, amid the controversy surrounding Tuface.
The report falsely attributed a quote to the senator, in which he allegedly said, “2face is a real representation of the African man. Wealth is defined by how many wives and children you have. Yes, they are at the forefront of your success as a man. Do you also see how he proposed to Natasha, without kneeling down?”
However, the senator’s office added that “as a public figure, and with his wife also being an actress, it is not unusual for bloggers seeking attention to fabricate such stories.”
The statement added, “However, Senator Nwoko is currently on a national assignment, focused on delivering on his political mandate, and has no time for distractions. This office remains available to journalists for verification of information, and we remind media practitioners of the consequences of spreading fake news. The public is advised to disregard these rumours and rely only on official statements from his office.”
