Ned Nwoko not responsible for my pregnancy, says Chika Ike

Nollywood actress Chika Ike has denied rumours linking her pregnancy to billionaire politician Ned Nwoko.
For days, social media had been buzzing with claims that the actress was expecting a child for Nwoko, who is already has six wives.

The speculations gained momentum after Regina Daniels, Nwoko’s wife, deactivated her Instagram account, further fueling talks of a brewing crisis in her marriage.

However, in a statement shared on Monday, Chika Ike dismissed the allegations, making it clear that Nwoko is not the father of her unborn child.

“FALSE! FALSE! FALSE! There have been all sorts of lies paddled about me in the media for years, but I always treated them like what they are—rumours that needed no response. But this is different; this is about my CHILD…” she wrote.

The actress, known for her role in Small Chops, described herself as an extremely private person, stressing that people do not know much about her unless she chooses to share it.

Setting the record straight, she added, “Ned isn’t the father of my child, and whoever name you might come up with later with your guessing games… I’m not about to be anyone’s 7th wife! Polygamy isn’t for me.”

Chika Ike’s response comes after Nwoko himself on Monday denied the rumours.

A part of the official statement read, “Our attention has been drawn to the recent false rumors alleging that Senator Prince Ned Munir Nwoko is planning to marry Nollywood actress Chika Ike as his seventh wife and that she is pregnant for him. We categorically state that these claims are entirely baseless and a product of malicious speculation.”

The controversy started when Ike announced her pregnancy, and online users quickly assumed that Nwoko was responsible. Many social media users connected the dots, especially after popular Nollywood, Regina Daniels went off social media without explanation.

Meanwhile, Regina has returned to TikTok on February 17, 2025, after deactivating her Instagram page.

In a short dance video, she left a cryptic caption: “Look into my eyes, tears wan wound me.”
Observers also noted that Regina did not publicly mark Valentine’s Day or celebrate her husband’s latest political victory, intensifying the rumours that Nwoko had secretly married another wife.
