People call my wife barren on social media – Lateef Adedimeji
Nollywood actor, Lateef Adedimeji, has revealed that social media trolls often call his wife, Mo Bimpe, barren.
The actor disclosed this during an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, where he also shared insights into his career struggles and their love story.
Speaking about their nearly four-year-old marriage, Lateef explained how Mo Bimpe frequently shows him messages from social media trolls who call her barren.

“My wife and I have received a lot of trolling. Recently, someone called her barren on social media. She would always show it to me and say she would be all right,” he said, adding that these hurtful comments have tested their resilience as a couple.
The actor’s story turned reflective as he delved into his early struggles in the Yoruba film industry. He recounted a moment when a mentor doubted his talent, predicting that his career would crumble within a year.
Instead of being discouraged, Lateef said he remained steadfast. He recalled earning just ₦4,000 for a lead role early in his career, a stark contrast to his current success as one of Nollywood’s most celebrated actors.
His exceptional performances have garnered him nominations and awards, including a Best Actor nomination at the 10th AMVCA for his role in Jagun Jagun, an epic movie by Femi Adebayo.
“When I wanted to do my first big-screen project, Lisabi, I realized everyone I thought would stand by me was absent,” he said. “But my wife was there, and she helped me stay confident.”
