Nigerian music stars Wizkid and Ayra Starr have secured spots among the world’s top artistes of 2024, as revealed by Chart Data.
The announcement, made on New Year’s Eve, placed Wizkid, whose real name is Ayodeji Balogun, in the 11th position, while Ayra Starr, fondly called the “Celestial Being,” clinched the 18th spot.
Chart Data, a music monitoring platform, released the rankings, spotlighting global artistes shaping the music scene.
Joining them from Africa is South African singer Tyla, who grabbed the 12th position.

The top 10 is dominated by global icons, including South Korean sensation Jimin, alongside American superstars Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, Sabrina Carpenter, Beyoncé, and rapper Kendrick Lamar. British pop queen Charli XCX, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, and Nicki Minaj round off the list.
Wizkid, Ayra Starr, and Davido were also recognised by Active Wurld’s Top 20 Music Global Icons Shaping the Future.
The list, which celebrates artistes influencing the future of music, ranked Davido at number 3, while Wizkid and Burna Boy took the 6th and 8th spots, respectively.
