THE African Democratic Congress (ADC) has unveiled and launched a movement called 1ADC in Abuja on Wednesday as part of it’s efforts in closing the gap amongst all it’s members irrespective of age, social-economic status and political interest ahead of the 2027 elections .

National Coordinator of the Movement ,Mrs Lauretta Onochie while performing the unveiling said the movement was born out of the necessity to bring together all the stakeholders and political interests that make up the ADC and to provide a platform where there will be togetherness and clear focus on the challenges ahead.

According to her , the platform will ensure that supporters of all the gladiators be it Mr Peter Obi, former vice President Atiku Abubakar or Former Rivers Governor Chibuike Amaechi will be able to work as a team and set the focus to be able to squarely confront a common opposition ,the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

“We are here to inform the world , the state , our political leaders that we have come together to be united as one ADC”.

Mrs Lauretta maintained that for th ADC to prevail there must be a statement of unity and purposes, and because Nigerians are asking an important question as to if political parties can ever come together and United , today we are here to say it is possible and we are taking that lead”.

She acknowledged that in every political movement , there are bound to be disagreements , however, the collective goal and future supercedes every interest .

“We will unite after primaries , we will heal wounds and we will not encourage anti-party activities .

“We will reach the grassroots , we will reach the poor, the young and we will be a party for every one . We will be strong , disciplined and united .”

She urged the members to convey the messages of unity , straightened the party structure and the party for the future .

Mrs Onochie maintained that the ADC is fully prepared to offer Nigerians people oriented programmes that speaks to their yearnings and aspirations and would ensure that their interests takes center stages at all times .

She called on all support groups to embrace peace and unity and strive towards a common goal irrespective of who would fly the flag of the party in the 2027 general elections .
