The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared Hon. Adamu Yanoko as the party’s governorship candidate in Kano ahead of 2027 general elections in the state.
Yanoko emerged as sole governorship candidate under the Nafiu Bala Gombe led faction of the ADC in Kano.
The acting chairman of the party in the state Hon. Musa Nuhu Yankaba, who officially presented Yanoko before the party’s factional national chairman, Nafi’u Bala Gombe revealed Yanoko’s emergence followed a consensus agreement of stakeholders.
Yankaba said the decision also followed consultations among party leaders and stakeholders, expressing confidence in Yanoko’s ability to provide effective leadership for Kano State if elected.
He added that the party was intensifying efforts to strengthen its structures across Kano and other parts of the country in preparation for the 2027 elections.
Speaking after his unveiling, Hon. Idris Adamu Yanoko thanked the party leadership for the confidence reposed in him and pledged to work with all stakeholders to advance the party’s fortunes and seek the support of Kano residents.
In his remarks, Nafi’u Bala Gombe said the party was fully prepared to compete in the 2027 elections and remained committed to providing credible leadership for the people.
The announcement comes as political parties continue to position themselves and build momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.
