The Ogun State Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council, IPAC, has cautioned all governorship candidates of political parties to put an end to campaigning with calumny, name-calling, and abuse, and rather engage in constructive criticism and present their blueprint for Ogun.

Sanyaolu made the declaration on Monday when receiving the APC gubernatorial candidate, Sen. Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, at the IPAC secretariat in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

In his welcome address, the IPAC Chairman stated that the council are in for advisory, and mainly to ensure that there is peace before, during and after the elections.

He noted that the group welcomes either an office holder or a seeker who comes up with complaints, and they would do the needful without being biased.

I also want to appeal that all candidates should stop abusing each other; rather, they should engage in constructive criticism. All that we want is for Ogun to remain at peace before, during and after the electioneering of 2027″
In his address, the APC gubernatorial candidate, Sen. Olamilekan Adeola, declared his readiness to transform Ogun State if he emerges, emphasising that the blueprint is there to follow.

He also disclosed that he might declare a state of emergency in five crucial sectors of the state’s economy on his first day in office if elected governor.

Addressing members of the council further, the lawmaker disclosed that a comprehensive, meticulously crafted blueprint designed to address the specific needs of every resident and section of the state has already been developed.

Adeola noted that only five key catalysts are required to drive his administration’s governance agenda.

“We are so blessed as a state that there should be a paradigm shift from what we are currently seeing to the new things we want to see,” Adeola stated. “So, on my first day of office, I will declare a state of emergency in some sectors of the economy.”

Highlighting his track record of performance in public office, the Senate Committee Chairman on appropriation noted that his developmental approach transcends political affiliations.

He pointed out that infrastructure projects, such as roads, schools, and markets, serve all citizens regardless of their political party.

“It’s not about party; it is when we want to play politics that we start talking about party,” he said. “If I facilitate road construction in a particular locality, which party will walk on that road? Labour will walk on that road; APM will walk on that road. Many people who have benefited are not members of my party.”

Reaffirming his commitment to human capital and infrastructural development, Adeola revealed that within the last two to three years alone, he has facilitated the construction of approximately 129 schools and 203 roads across the state, alongside various market projects and empowerment schemes.

He urged stakeholders to evaluate contenders based on proven capacity, mindset, and readiness to deliver quality governance without coercion.

“If I’ve done all of that without being forced, without being coerced, without being asked to do it, then you can start to imagine the kind of man who wants to run this state someone whose mentality and orientation are already formed about development,” he added.
