2027: Islamic group endorse Tinubu, Radda in Katsina

President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid has received the endorsement of the Darika Islamic group in Katsina State.

The religious group also endorsed the second term bid of the state governor, Dr Dikko Radda.

The endorsement was made yesterday in the state metropolitan area at an event where the group, led by Shiek Muhammad Nasir of the Mussasa Shiekh Dahiru Bauchi Foundation, announced their position.

Speaking, Shiekh Nasir said the group’s members, drawn from the 34 Local Government Areas of the state, organized the event to give their blessings to the re-election bid of both leaders.

He, therefore, encouraged voters to support both men as well as candidates of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), and to turn out enmass on election day to cast their votes for them.

He commented president Tinubu and governor Radda for their contributions to Islamic education and support for clerics in the state.

Acknowledging the endorsement, Governor Radda expressed appreciation for the support from the clerics, assuring that the ruling APC would continue to work to make life better for Nigerians.

Radda said his as well as Tinubu’s re-election, would ensure continuity in governance and that same would lead to smoother implementation of government programmes.

Speaking, event’s Convener and Chairman of the Maituraka Foundation, Abdulaziz Maituraka, expressed confidence that both Tinubu and Radda would secure victory in the coming polls, and get to seve another term in office.

Maituraka, however, called on members of the APC within and outside the state, to remain united, and ensure they positively sell both candidates to their friends, neighbours and communities ahead of the elections.

He also called on them to work towards ensuring that all candidates of the party get to win various seats being congested for, both at the national and state levels.

The event also saw the religious group offer special prayers for Nigeria’s leaders, as well as for quick end to insecurity challenges bedeviling parts of the country.

The event future saw the distribution of empowerment packages to 500 women to encourage self-reliance through the establishment or expansion of own small-scale businesses.
