Delta State Police command has confirmed the arrest of a 23-year-old man, identified simply as Success for allegedly stabbing his father to death with a cutlass in Amukpe community in Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, said that Success has been taken into custody for thorough investigations.

The Guardian learnt that Success had demanded N5,000 from his father, but the poor man refused, and the refusal angered Success, who had a hot argument with his father.

According to sources, the argument escalated, after which Success allegedly grabbed a cutlass and attacked his father.

It was further learnt that Success was under the influence of drugs.

An eyewitness said, “Everyone is aware that Success is a drug addict who always misbehaves whenever he has taken those drugs.”

Although the victim was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, he could not survive it due to the severe injuries sustained.
