68-year-old chief killed, woman beheaded in Delta communities
Gunmen have reportedly invaded some communities in Isoko South and Ndokwa West councils, killing innocent people.
At Ogume community in Ndokwa West council, 68-year old Chief Pius Omenigor from Ogbeogume, was allegedly killed on Christmas eve in his residence at Ogbeinotu around 11pm while a 40-year-old woman, Mrs Oghale Lucky Napoleon, was murdered and beheaded at Owodokpokpo-Igbide in Isoko South Council, while her husband escaped with bullet.
The Command’s spokesman, DSP Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, said the police have waded into the matter to fish out the hoodlums for prosecution.
The Guardian learnt the beheaded woman “went to the farm with her husband where she was killed over farm land dispute.
“It was gathered that Okpolo-Enhwe launched an unwarranted and most gruesome attack on innocent Igbide farmers on Thursday, December 23, 2021, which took everyone by surprise.”
Sources said: “On the fateful day, the war mongers from Okpolo-Enhwe went to our bushes and ambushed an innocent couple on their farm. While the husband, escaped by the whiskers though with severe gun injuries, his wife, Mrs. Lucky Napoleon fell to their bullets; and was beheaded.”
Meanwhile, the community has passionately appealed to security authorities to fish out those behind the murder and subject them to the full wrath of the law.
