Abdulrazaq sends revised 2019 budget to Kwara Assembly
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has forwarded Kwara’s revised 2019 budget estimates of N135,159,772,167 to the state House of Assembly for consideration.
This is against the N157,802,032,651 earlier passed by the eighth legislature, representing a 15 per cent decrease.
In the governor’s correspondence to the lawmakers dated August 21, 2019 and read on the floor of the chamber by Speaker Yakubu Danladi Salihu, the financial document has a recurrent expenditure of N97,221,983,006 as against the former N121,846,573,912 tally, amounting to a 21 per cent decrease.
Besides, the capital expenditure was slashed by 21 per cent from N79,594,046,011 to N62,810,026,813.
The speaker, after calling on House Leader Abubakar Olawoyin Mogaji to lay the estimates, directed the Committee on Rules and Business to slate the revised budget for second reading.
