THE paramount ruler of Enachioken Autonomous Community, Abiriba, in Abia State, His Royal Highness, Kalu Ogbu, the Enachioken of Abiriba, has endorsed the governorship candidate of Labour Party (LP), Dr. Alex Otti.

The endorsement followed the decision by women of the community to endorse the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and its candidates for the 2023 general elections.

In a statement by the Director of Media and Publicity, Otti Campaign Organisation, Kazie Uko, Abia LP noted that the Enachioken of Abiriba and his cabinet endorsed Otti and other LP candidates for the 2023 polls.

The statement reads: “The decision of the Enachoken Community to support Otti and other LP candidates was reached when the LP governorship candidate visited the community. Led by the Enachioken of Abiriba and his council of chiefs, the community endorsed Otti for the 2023 governorship election in the state.”

Uko further stated that the Abiriba community “trusted the integrity, credibility, character, capacity and competence of Otti to deliver on his promises.”

The governorship hopeful, who was at the Enachioken’s palace, thanked him and his council of chiefs for the endorsement.

Meanwhile, speaking when women and youths from the community converged on the country home of the member representing Ohafia North in the state Assembly, Mrs. Joy Ndukwe, the lawmaker said: “Our families and community have enjoyed immensely from the PDP-led government of Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu.”

Ndukwe disclosed that the community is standing strongly behind PDP and Ikpeazu, stressing that the governor has been able to deliver purposeful leadership, especially by heading the most peaceful, secure and progressive administration in the country.

While declaring that Abia remains a PDP state, Ndukwe stressed: “We cannot forget that Ikpeazu reconstructed Ugwuezi Road in Abiriba, linking the community with our brethren in Nkporo, and the construction of Abiriba -Nkporo Road, which leads to our farmlands.

“Our husbands and children, residing and doing business in Aba, have also told us about the infrastructure revolution going on in the commercial city, especially around Nwaobasi Estate, Ogbor Hill, Ngwa Road and other areas with heavy Abiriba population.
“For these reasons and more, we are grateful to our governor and PDP. We have decided to reward them with our votes during next year’s election.”
