Abia gives automatic employment to 170 pioneer E4e graduates
One hundred and seventy graduates of the 464 pioneer graduates, trained in Information Communication Technology (ICT) related skills in the pilot phase of the Abia State Education For Employment (E4E) programme, have been offered automatic employment.
The governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, who announced this yesterday in Umuahia, during their graduation ceremony, said the lucky graduates, 10 each from the 17 Local Council Areas, are to run the state’s Job Portal located in the LGAs.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor of the Abia State University, Prof Uche Ikonne called for what he called knowledge-driven economy that would be run symbiotically with the universities and featuring sponsorship of researches that would generate the necessary data for technological development.
