Lauds Dangote as strategic partner in industrial, economic development
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, yesterday, flagged off the 15th Gateway International Trade Fair with the theme, “Promoting Businesses Through Partnerships,” at the M.K.O Abiola Trade Fair Complex, Laderin, Abeokuta.

Abiodun charged participants to leverage the commerce platform to network and build purposeful partnerships, which would boost their businesses.

The governor, who was represented by the Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Adebola Sofela, said that the trade fair had consistently been a platform for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to showcase products and build connections that would help businesses, as well as the state, to prosper.

He noted that the state remained unwavering at continually improving the business enabling environment, adding that reforms and policies were already yielding positive fruits as the state continues to wax stronger as investors’ preferred destination.

Meanwhile, the governor lauded the roles played by the Pan-African conglomerate, Dangote Industries Limited (DIL), as a strategic partner in the industrial and economic development of the state through investments.

He said the state government proudly recognises the Dangote Group as “a truly exemplary strategic partner in the collective pursuit of industrial advancement and sustainable economic development in the state.”

Abiodun, who gave the assurance of his administration’s continuous support, lauded the OGUNCCIMA for its consistency and professionalism over the years.

He also commended the investors and members of the private sector for supporting the trade fair.

In his welcome address, President of OGUNCCIMA, Niyi Osiyemi, commended the state government for creating an enabling environment for businesses to flourish and for the provision of support, which had translated into six editions of the trade fair held consecutively in the last six years.

Also, National President of NACCIMA, Dr Jani Ibrahim, represented by Dr Michael Olawale Cole, lauded the Ogun State Governor for his administration’s business-friendly policies, which have made the business environment conducive.

In her goodwill message, Dame Adesola Adebutu commended the current administration for consistently holding the trade fair in the last six years.
