The Rotary Club of Abuja Metro has promised to equip the library of the Nigeria Prison Service (NPS) at Kuje prisons so as to prepare inmates for the Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (SSCE).

It also said the club had outlined some basic amenities that the club would provide to some communities in Kuje, which include materials of hearing to the deaf, boreholes, drugs to hospitals, empowering widows and donation of books to some selected schools, and giving succour to the girl child.

The President of the Rotary Club of Abuja Metro, Robert Itawa, disclosed this yesterday in Abuja at the 7th Investiture Ceremony and Fund Raising organised by the club.

He said they have started the process of actualising the process by partnering with relevant agencies for assistance, stressing that they have taken budget of all what they needed in the execution of the projects.

According to him, “we have actually started the process of actualising them and the whole essence is to partner with the relevant agencies. Take the prison service for example we can’t do anything in the prison service unless and until you are firmed with the authority that we have done. “We have gone on inspection which we called needs analysis and we have equally analysed all that is needed. “We have taken a budget of what is needed to execute this and we have worked out the modalities to actually achieve success at that level, what is just left is the finances we are trying to raise today and then we would roll on immediately hitch-free.”
