Accord Party chieftain urges the wealthy to help combat poverty, hunger
The rich in society have been called upon to lend a helping hand in addressing the appalling level of hunger and poverty among Nigerians.
The governorship candidate of the Accord Party in the recently held Edo State poll, Dr Bright Enabulele, who made the call in Abuja on Wednesday, remarked that it behoves Nigerians to put aside their ethnic, religious, and political differences to address the multifaceted challenges in the country.
Enabulele, who showed his philanthropic disposition when he distributed assorted food items to about 300 residents of Mpape, Abuja, in March this year, noted: “Beyond politics, we must have humanity; government alone cannot do everything.
He said, “So we must, as citizens, contribute our quota to reducing hunger and poverty in the land. When a man is hungry, he can’t think properly. I am here to do my own part to make this a reality. Nigeria is our country. We must work together to make it work.”
The coalition of young people for good leadership, which has been monitoring his philanthropic gestures, described him as a worthy ambassador for the country.
Led by Dr Adedayo Oba, the coalition called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to confer a befitting national honour on Enabulele, who is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and President of Oodua Blockchain Infrastructure Limited.
