Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting the military in addressing emerging security challenges in the state and beyond.
Speaking at the 2025 West African Social Activities (WASA) event held on Saturday at Gibson Jalo Cantonment, Yola, and represented by Deputy Governor, Kaletapwa Farauta, Governor Fintiri commended the military for their dedication to maintaining peace and stability.
“Let me assure the Brigade of the state government’s commitment and unwavering support in your operations and other areas where the state government may be required,” the governor stated.

Highlighting the military’s role in combating crime, Fintiri praised their efforts in addressing challenges such as kidnapping, farmer-herder clashes, and activities of criminal groups like the ‘Shila boys,’ noting significant progress in restoring security and boosting public confidence.
Brigadier General Paul Zawaya, Commander of the 23 Brigade, expressed gratitude to the state government for its steadfast backing, particularly for Operation FARAUTA, which has yielded remarkable results in enhancing security.
The event also celebrated the cultural diversity of Nigeria, as officers, soldiers, and their families gathered to mark the conclusion of the year’s activities in a relaxed and festive atmosphere.
