[Reading the communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, Afenifere spokesman, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, said the Yoruba leaders were displeased with the government’s refusal to send the recommendation of the National Judicial Council (NJC) to the National Assembly for confirmation.

Afenifere which lamented that the three months of acting capacity of Onnoghen, as allowed by the constitution, is about to expire, urged Buhari to comply with the recommendation despite the few days left for his tenure to expire.]

And I said of Nigeria being managed either through cowardice or forthrightly. And Buhari said, “I am for nobody I am for everybody!” in his inaugural speech he appears, from this action and that for Magu and Babachir Davud Lawal that he is for some group otherwise why should there be the dithering about this appointment! And another group on National Orientation programme side says that Nigeria should detest doing things that make us divided but to do things that remind us that we are One – you wonder is the action by the President telling you that you’re ‘One’ in Nigeria really? You said it, for over 30 years the Heads of the Chief Judge of Nigeria has been from the North and yet nobody seem to be thinking rationally in the Aso Rock! And I said also that President M. Buhari is being beguiled as the President coming from exile, as it were, and this is what is happening presently – it is playing out in the actions and policy pronouncements! Rather than act as directed/ required by the Constitution – the requirement of the constitution to deal with even though with his Vice as a Professor of Law and Constitution even though they are expected to discuss the matter in close door you still discover that the minds of the leaders in APC do not meet and therefore that they do not speak with the same voice in the party caucus meetings!

To say that in this matter we shall know what is happening in Nigeria cowardly and the Niger Delta issue must come into play here if you want the political problem in Nigeria solved!
