Agbaje said the trend had been for the ruling forces dominating state affairs in the last 19 years to shortchange landowners and resell to land speculators for a pittance.
He said sometimes, they entirely dispossess the landowners without an appropriate compensation package.
Addressing his supporters at Ibeju Lekki during his door-to-door, community-to-community and town hall meeting, Agbaje reiterated his vow that the Lekki Toll Gate would cease to exist, if elected.
In a similar development, the state chapter of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) has raised the alarm that agents of the ruling APC and major opposition, PDP are destroying its campaign posters and flags across the state.
State’s chairman of AD, Mr. Kola Ajayi, who said this at a media parley, said the act is a mockery of democracy.
Ajayi also dismissed the rumour that he has resigned as AD chairman in Lagos. This arises from a communiqué to that effect by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Olayinka Nola.
