Aisha Buhari gives jobs to physically-challenged ex-corps members
Wife of the President, Dr. Aisha Buhari, has facilitated the employment of two physically-challenged former corps members, Onogberie Lulu and Nuruddeen Tahir, in the Federal Civil Service.
This gesture followed the persistent advocacy of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director-General, Maj-Gen. Shuaibu Ibrahim, for support to corps members, especially in the area of welfare.
The duo were handed their employment letters from the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), yesterday, by the DG in his office.
Ibrahim expressed gratitude to the First Lady for her sustained interest in the success of NYSC, and the welfare of corps members.
He remarked that the gesture would motivate the beneficiaries to render more service to the country as well as send a message to other physically-challenged youths that the nation cares for them, and would give them opportunities to realise their potential.
