Aiyedatiwa, Edema mourn passing of Ondo monarch

The Owa of Idanre kingdom, Oba Frederick Adegunle Aroloye, Arubiefin IV, has joined his ancestors at 102.
The Guardian reported that the oldest first-class monarch who ascended the throne in 1976 passed away after a brief illness.
The demise of the monarch was disclosed on Wednesday at Owa’s palace by the Lisa of Idanre, who is also the traditional Prime Minister of the kingdom, High Chief Christopher Akindolire.
According to a source who disclosed the demise of the traditional ruler, the reign of the monarch witnessed notable development, progress, and numerous transformational innovations in the hilly community.
The first-class monarch who ascended the throne in 1976 passed away after a brief illness.
“He will be remembered for his passionate love of his people, fairness, impartial judgements, promotion of the culture and tradition of his people, and above all, his fear of God.”
Meanwhile, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has commiserated with the people of Idanre over the passing of the revered monarch.
Aiyedatiwa, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, described the passing of the monarch as a monumental loss to the Idanre community, the state, and Yorubaland, stating that the late Oba Aroloye was one of the most respected monarchs in Nigeria during his reign, adding that he was a lover of peace.
“Within the almost 50 years of his reign, he added, Oba Aroloye promoted communal peace and stability while deploying his rich experience in the traditional leadership of Idanreland.”
On his part, the governorship candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Gbenga Edema, stated that the impact the late monarch had on the development and cultural heritage of Idanre will remain indelible.
Edema, who described the late Oba Aroloye as a beacon of positive change in the hilly community, stated that remarkable progress and transformative initiatives were witnessed during his reign.
“His reign was marked by progress, innovation, and a deep-seated love for the traditions of Idanre.”
“Oba Aroloye’s dedication to preserving the culture and heritage of Idanre has left an indelible mark on the community, and his passion for the well-being of his subjects has endeared him to the hearts of many.”
