The proposed establishment of the largest industrial and free trade zone by the Dangote Group at Olokola, Ondo State, has been described as a historic development of significance.

While stressing that the move was an indication that the state is steadily reclaiming its rightful place as a major centre of industrial potential in the country, a stakeholder within the APC, Valentine Olaleye, commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for the leadership and economic foresight over the development.

According to Olaleye, who is a businessman and investor, he described the development as a clear vote of confidence in the state, the people, and its resources.

The project, unveiled during a visit by the president of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, to Aiyedatiwa in Akure on Monday, was designed to transform the Olokola corridor into one of the country’s largest industrial hubs, equipped with dedicated power generation, water supply, gas infrastructure, and modern logistics facilities.

Olaleye noted that the renewed interest of the Dangote Group represents more than just investment interest; he maintained that it signified the revival of hope and the return of a long-awaited economic vision.

“I heartily commend the executive governor of Ondo State, His Excellency Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for the purposeful leadership, economic foresight and investment-friendly direction that have helped to bring this landmark opportunity into focus.

“This development is not just another business announcement. It is a clear vote of confidence in Ondo State, its people, its resources and the future being deliberately shaped under the present administration.

“Aiyedatiwa deserves commendation for understanding that the progress of a state is measured not only by words but by the quality of opportunities created for the people.
