Ajadi picks APM senatorial form, declares readiness for Oyo Central race

Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo officially picked the APM's nomination form to contest for the Oyo Central Senatorial District seat.

The political atmosphere at the Oyo State secretariat of the Allied Peoples Movement came alive on Monday as businessman and politician Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo officially picked the party’s nomination form to contest for the Oyo Central Senatorial District seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The event, held in Ibadan, attracted party members, supporters, and political associates who gathered at the venue in a show of solidarity for the aspirant.

Supporters were seen chanting slogans and singing party songs as Ajadi formally declared his intention to represent Oyo Central at the National Assembly.

Addressing journalists shortly after obtaining the nomination form, Ajadi said his decision to enter the race was motivated by a desire to provide effective representation and responsive leadership for the people of the district.

“I have answered the call of my people and my party. Today marks the beginning of a renewed political journey aimed at giving the good people of Oyo Central quality representation, responsive governance, and a voice that will be heard clearly at the National Assembly,” he said.

Ajadi stated that his ambition extended beyond seeking political office, adding that his focus would include youth empowerment, women inclusion, improved infrastructure, educational development, and economic growth within the senatorial district.

He also expressed confidence in the electoral prospects of the APM ahead of the 2027 elections.

“By the grace of God and with the support of the people, APM will win the presidential election, produce the next governor of Oyo State, and secure victories in the senatorial, House of Representatives, and State Assembly elections. Our party is growing stronger daily, and Nigerians are ready for a credible alternative,” he said.

Supporters at the event described Ajadi’s formal entry into the race as a significant development for the party in Oyo State, citing his grassroots support base and philanthropic activities across different communities.

Ajadi has remained active in political advocacy in recent years, particularly on issues relating to youth participation in governance and democratic reforms.

Political observers believe his emergence in the Oyo Central contest could influence the political dynamics within the district, which remains one of the most strategically important senatorial zones in Oyo State due to its electoral strength and political influence.
