Akeredolu, Fayemi, Okowa greet Odigie-Oyegun at 80
Akeredolu described the former governor of Edo State as an enigmatic leader with inviolably unassailable leadership qualities whose life is a study to all.
In a statement yesterday in Akure by its Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ojo Oyewamide, Akeredolu said: “The immeasurable virtues and the strong contents of character as embedded in Odigie-Oyegun are what announce the real achiever. Odigie-Oyegun’s existence has been a life of selfless, dedicated and uncompromising service to humanity.”
Fayemi, in a congratulatory message to Odigie-Oyegun, described the former Edo State governor as a thoroughbred administrator who built an enviable public service record through sheer hard work, brilliance, and integrity.
“At 80, Chief Odigie-Oyegun remains an enigma, a reference point in terms of humility, selfless service, and integrity in public service. The younger generation of public servants and politicians have a lot to learn from the track record of this great leader,” he said.
Okowa, who described Odigie-Oyegun as a quintessential administrator and first-class political leader whose leadership credentials were exemplary, commended him for his strong convictions and unwavering commitment to humanity, which engendered his astonishing accomplishments in life saying: “As you join the octogenarian club, we thank you for your kind contributions to nation-building. It is my prayer that the good Lord will continue to uphold and guide you in all your future endeavours.
“As you mark 80 years today, we celebrate you and all that you have accomplished through your humble beginnings to your illustrious career as a top-notch civil servant; first civilian governor of Edo, pro-democracy activist and first elected national chairman of the APC.”
