Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, yesterday, hailed the resilience and dedication of workers to duty.

Akeredolu, while emphasising that the commitment of workers to the development of the state has engendered optimum service delivery, lauded the organised labour for their understanding and courage during the challenging times.

According to the governor, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Union Matters and Special Duties, Dare Aragbaiye, at the 2023 Workers’ Day celebration in the state, his government has put in place diverse worker-friendly programmes to ensure that workers are able to discharge their duties to the best of their abilities.

Akeredolu also identified with the former NLC chairman in the state, Sunday Adeleye, who was elected as one of the Vice Presidents of the union during the just-concluded national election of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) in Abuja.

Meanwhile, the NLC Chairman, Victor Amoko, commended the governor for what he described as his genuine commitment to welfare of workers and pensioners in the state.

Also, the TUC Chairman, Clement Fatuase, said Akeredolu’s unalloyed passion for workers’ welfare had fostered a good working relationship between his administration and workers.

During the commemoration of the event, the workers conferred an award of “Most Workers’ Friendly Governor” on Akeredolu.
