The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has promised to reinstate the 63 sacked workers of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko if elected.

Akeredolu, who made the promise at the weekend in Akungba, said their entitlements would be paid from October 2012 when they were disengaged from service.

The Guardian learnt that the workers were sacked for allegedly supporting the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the 2012 governorship election.

The candidate described their sacking as unfortunate, promising that if the APC is voted into power, it would not sack any worker.

At the palce of the Regent of the community, Oluwatoyin Omosowon, he promised to broaden the curriculum of the university to accommodate some vital courses.

He said it was unfair that the university was not offering courses in medical sciences, despite that it was established many years ago.

He said, “There are so many things that are lacking at the university”as it is the only institution that has no teaching hospital.
