The APC Professionals Network (APN) has commended Senate President Godswill Akpabio for his humility in handling Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s petition, asserting that his response proves he has nothing to hide.

In a statement by APN President Victor Walsh Oluwafemi, the group noted that Akpabio’s humble background and open declaration of innocence regarding allegations of sexual harassment underscore his integrity.

Akpabio, who recounted being raised by his mother, maintained that he has never been involved in such misconduct. The APN stressed that the Senate is a revered institution governed by due process, which Akpabio has upheld.

The group criticised the misinterpretation of his actions, urging Nigerians to respect the Senate’s sanctity and avoid politicising the matter. It called on Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan to exercise restraint, warning that turning the issue into a spectacle risks embarrassing the nation.

The APN emphasised that peace should prevail as the appropriate Senate committees proceed with their investigations.
